Robert Piper was first introduced to meditation by his mentor and one the happiest persons he knows, “Dr. Ming-Te Lin.” Dr. Lin is a physician with dual medical training (Western Medicine & Traditional Chinese Medicine). Dr. Lin later referred him to a Taoist monk. He spent nine and half years studying with the monk until he received the title of “Master.” Robert teaches meditation in a fun and accessible way, just like going to the gym to workout. He’s trying to make the practice less weird, because when he first started he thought it was a little weird.
He’s traveled extensively to Asia and Australia in search of other meditation teachers. He has spent over a decade researching, studying, and collecting information on various meditation and health care systems of Asia.
His curriculum consists of mindfulness, sitting meditation, standing meditation, reclining meditation, walking meditation, Tai Chi, and QiGong.
Robert’s taught physicians, psychologists, physical therapists, athletes, and business professionals. He’s taught meditation at Walgreens University, John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, and Mental Health America of Illinois. He is also a writer and a speaker. Below is a picture of his rescue dog “Lucille.”
